Privacy Policy
Effective November, 2008
Silicon Design Solutions
("SDS") relies on you, our customers, for our success. We know that
in order for you to use our website, or purchase our products and services, you
have to feel comfortable providing us with personal information about yourself.
We recognize the importance of safeguarding that information.
SDS provides this Privacy
Policy to inform you of our policies and procedures should you choose to share
personal information with us. This Privacy Policy describes SDS's collection,
use and disclosure of personal information on our website www.silicondesignsolutions.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy
may be updated from time to time as our services change and expand. We will
notify you of such changes by sending an email message to your email address on
record, and your continued use of the Site will signify your acceptance of
these new terms.
What Information Do We
Gather?
SDS may provide customers with tools and resources capable of producing IP Macros.
Through the Site, SDS also offers rich content, resources and support for our
users. By collecting some personal information about you, SDS is better able to
understand your needs and to provide you with better service.
When you register on one of
the Site, we ask for personal information, such as name, address, etc., about
you. We may also ask for personal information for online or in person events
such as seminars and conferences.
SDS also uses "cookies" or small bits of information stored
by your browser on your hard drive to track what pages our users view and to
keep track of a user's identity throughout a user session on our site. SDS uses
a persistent cookie that records your email address for log in purposes. Cookie
information may be linked to your email address, but is only used as described below.
Finally, in connection with
the standard operation of the Site, certain non-personally identifiable
information about visitors to this website is also recorded.
How Do We Use The
Information We Gather?
SDS may use personal information you provide us to facilitate your session
visits to the Site, provide you with information, resources and tools, respond
to specific questions from users, to provide you with information about our
products and services, and for the planning and presentation of events such as
seminars and conferences. We may also use personal information for the internal
research purposes discussed below.
Information obtained through
"cookies" or automatically recorded by the Site will be used to track
a user's identity through a session (so you don't have to re-enter information
on every page), as well as for internal research purposes, to help us provide
our users with better Site and better service. We use cookies to track the
pages on the Site visited by our users, for example. We can build a better
website if we know which pages our users are visiting and how often. Of course,
you can set your browser not to accept cookies, but if you do, you may not be
able to take advantage of the personalized features enjoyed by other visitors
to our website.
Do We Share Your Personal
Information With Third Parties, Such As Advertisers, Service Providers, or
Consultants?
As SDS grows and expands, we may share your information with our affiliates,
consultants, vendors and service providers, who assist us in maintaining the Site
and providing related services such as online registration for events. We may
share your information with advertisers or marketers. We may also share your
information with event sponsors.
SDS may also disclose
information when required by law or under the good-faith belief that such
disclosure is necessary in order to conform to applicable law, comply with
legal process served on SDS, or to protect the property or interests of SDS,
its agents and employees, personal safety, or the public. Under such
circumstances, SDS may be prohibited by law, court order or other legal process
from providing notice of the disclosure, and SDS reserves the right to not
provide such notice in its sole discretion.
As its business evolves, SDS may sell, transfer or otherwise share some
or all of its assets, including personally identifiable information, in
connection with a merger, reorganization, or sale of assets, or in the event of
bankruptcy. In such an event, personal information, along with automatically
recorded information may be one of the assets transferred.
Can You View and Correct
Your Personal Information?
SDS will use reasonable efforts to keep your personal information accurate. We
would appreciate your help in ensuring the information you provide to us is
accurate and up-to-date. Providing accurate information helps us serve you
better. You may easily update your personal information through the "SDS
Preferred Customer" link provided from numerous pages on the Site. If you
choose to unregister with SDS on either of the Site, your account will be
deactivated, though personal information contained in your account may remain
on our servers.
Is Your Information
Secure?
SDS uses physical, electronic and administrative safeguards, including
firewall, encryption and password protection for our databases, designed to
protect the security of data. SDS also will only allow account activation based
upon valid email verification as an additional security feature.
